Ocean Colour Scene Picture
Falling between the energetic pop/rock of mod revival and the psychedelic experimentations of Traffic, Ocean Colour Scene came to be one of the leading bands of the traditionalist, post- OasisBritish rock of the mid-'90s. Although they had formed in the late '80s and had several hits during the height of Madchester in the early '90s, the band didn't earn a large following until 1996, when their second album, Moseley Shoals, became a multi-platinum success story in the U.K. Their ascent was greatly aided by Paul Wellerand Oasis' Noel Gallagher, both publicly praised Ocean Colour Scene for keeping the flame of real rock & roll burning during the '90s. And, according to one specific definition, they were right, since Ocean Colour Scene was nothing if not rock & roll traditionalists, drawing heavily from British Invasion pop, psychedelia, soul, R&B, and blues-rock to create a reverential homage to classic rock. Their devotion to trad rock may have earned them decidedly mixed reviews, but that was the very thing that earned them a sizable following.

Profit In Peace Lyrics

Ocean Colour Scene

All the people under broken homes
Dont wanna fight no more
All the people nursing shattered bones
Dont wanna fight no more
But theres no profit in peace
So weve gotta fight some more
And all those who are in foreign lands
Dont wanna fight no more
And all those who lost their feet or hands
Dont wanna fight no more
But theres no profit in peace boys
Weve gotta fight some more
Hey, we dont wanna fight no more
Hey, hey, hey, we dont wanna fight no more
But theres no profit in peace boys
We gotta fight some more
And all those just trying to play their part
Dont wanna fight no more
And all those who own a human heart
Dont wanna fight no more
But theres no profit in what you want
So we must fight some more
And all those who got an axe to grind
Dont wanna fight no more
And all those who got their burning lights
Dont wanna fight no more
But theres no profit in ever being right
So we must fight some more
Repeat chorus
And all the people under broken homes
Dont wanna fight no more
And all the people never going home
Dont wanna fight no more
There is profit in the land you own
So we must fight some more
And all those who got a tired face
Dont wanna fight no more
And all those who lost without a trace
Dont wanna fight no more
But there is profit in the love of hate
So we must fight some more
Repeat chorus
Hey, hey, hey, we dont wanna fight no more...
